Staying several weeks or months in Istanbul with a dog or cat takes more planning than a short trip. Accommodation is the biggest hurdle, but vet care, walks and transport also matter. Here is what to think about, and how to ask us whether our apartments in Kadıköy can work for you.

Accommodation first

Many furnished rentals and hotels do not accept pets, and those that do often limit size or charge an extra cleaning fee. For long stays, ask about the rules for leaving the pet alone, damage responsibility and any deposit, and get the answers in writing. At our apartments we decide pet requests individually, so write to us with the animal’s type, size and your dates before booking.

Daily life with a pet in Kadıköy

Kadıköy is known for its street cats and dogs and its animal-friendly culture. Moda’s seafront park and Fenerbahçe Park are good for daily walks. You will find pet shops and veterinary clinics in the district; note the nearest vet as soon as you arrive.

Paperwork

Check entry requirements for pets travelling to Türkiye (microchip, vaccinations and health certificate) with official sources and your airline well before travel, as rules can change.
