If you plan to explore Istanbul by ferry, staying close to Kadıköy pier saves a lot of time every day. Our serviced apartments in Rasimpaşa are a short walk from the terminal, so the commute to the European side starts with a few minutes on foot and a ferry ride across the Bosphorus. Here is how that works in practice.

Where the ferries go

From Kadıköy there are regular ferries to Eminönü, Karaköy and Beşiktaş. Eminönü puts you close to the Spice Bazaar and a tram ride from Sultanahmet; Karaköy is the gateway to Galata and the funicular up to Beyoğlu. The crossing takes around twenty minutes and is one of the best views in the city. Pay with an Istanbulkart, which works on all public transport.

Why the location matters

Hotels in the old city are convenient for sights but crowded and expensive. Staying in Kadıköy you get lower prices, a calm residential street and a lively neighbourhood for evenings, while the ferry keeps the historic peninsula within easy reach. Marmaray and the metro are also close if you prefer rail.
